Tired of the chaos, cheating, and no respect for voters? Under heavy Washington, DC pressure, South Carolina's General Assembly is moving forward to draw a new SC congressional map. Call your Senator and House Representive. Pack the house on Tuesday, May 12, 9 am, and submit testimony. Urge NO to midterm redistricting!

Last minute efforts before the close of the session have resulted in two extreme actions. Call your SC Senator and House Representative to oppose midterm redistricting, an action that would require cancelling June 9 primaries.

H. 4760 —which restricts the use of the medications commonly used in abortion and is also important in many other medical contexts—is being brought to the Senate floor without subcommittee hearings or debate. Call your SC Senator to vote NO on all extreme abortion bans including H.4760.

S.1095, a total abortion ban with no exceptions for incest or rape, passed out of Senate Medical Affairs on April 21 and has moved to the full Senate calendar. If passed, people who seek abortion care and the providers who offer it could face jail time. It could also put access to birth control and in vitro fertilization (IVF) at risk.

We are confident objections will be filed, so it can’t be considered without special order. This requires a 2/3 vote. Call your senator and tell them to vote no on S.1095. #StopTheBansSC

S.1060, the Educator Safety and Classroom Authority Act, affirms the authority of teachers to implement classroom management. It asks for teachers and administrators to administer appropriate discipline measures to ensure a conducive learning environment in the classroom and school. Call your state senator and ask that the bill be immediately heard in subcommittee due to its late introduction in the two-year legislative session.

Congress continues to introduce bills that would require voters to present documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) to register and/or vote. Americans do not need MORE obstacles to vote. The SAVE Act and its iterations would create one more barrier to the voting process, as many eligible voters do not have easy access to the necessary documents. Tell Congress to oppose the SAVE Act suite of bills.

Congress is considering a fast-track legislative process to allocate billions of additional dollars to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the very agencies that are terrorizing our communities. All the while, millions of Americans are struggling to meet their basic needs.

Speak up now.

Tell Congress to reject anti-voter policies.

Last year, the House and Senate introduced the Equal Representation Act (H.R.151 and S.2205) to add a citizenship question to the 2030 Census and exclude noncitizens from the apportionment process, which determines the number of members each US state sends to the House of Representatives.

Tell your Members of Congress the Census must count all people!

The District of Columbia, while known to many as the seat of our nation's government, is also where many people live, work, raise their families, pay taxes, and call home. However, unlike people living in the 50 US states, the residents of DC live under local laws that are subject to congressional interference. This is undemocratic.

Urge your Members of Congress to oppose interference in DC!
