The Council of Metropolitan Area Leagues (CMAL) is an Inter-League Organization (ILO)  established September 18, 1962.  CMAL is an extension of local LWV's in the Twin Cities metropolitan area that address governmental issues of metropolitan wide concern.    All members of local LWVs in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area - Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington Counties - are automatically members of CMAL.  Each local LWV appointes delegates, who elect the CMAL board of directors, adopt a budget, and adopt programs and studies.

 CMAL Annual Convention

Each local league has one voting delegate for each 50 members and major fraction of 50. Each local LWV may designate an alternate for delegates who are absent.   LWV ABC has two delegates to CMAL.  All members are welcome to attend as observers.
