Our shared vision:

As League members, we imagine a League that:
  • Embraces and embodies diversity, equity, and inclusion as inextricable from the mission to empower voters and defend democracy
  • Engages in purposeful action to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion beyond words
  • Commits at the individual and collective level to being more self-aware and understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences
  • Is known for being relevant, diverse, equitable, and inclusive—inside and out

DEI is at the heart of every  League of Women Voters program:

  • VOTE411- prioritizing investment in bilingual content across the site, made possible by professional translation, deep-rooted partnership (NALEO), and skilled staff and volunteers
  • Voter Mobilization– prioritizing and paying for outreach to populations most likely left out of the process, even they're not a priority for political parties or candidates
  • Redistricting - keeping impacted communities at the center of our efforts, even if it  puts us at odds with political leaders or parties
  • Voter Protection — centering impacted communities in every litigation and advocacy choice. For example, the League of Women Voters has been a leader in centering rights restoration for returning citizens in the push to pass the For The People Act
