State working groups: What's your hot button?

State working groups: What's your hot button?

We believe in the power of women
Combine energies with other League members who share your passion!

State working groups of local League members tackle issues, share resources, and strategize to educate and engage individual constituents. Grounded in state positions, a group’s primary purpose is educational, lending valuable support to Local League efforts.  So many SC issues, so much League interest ---we heard you! With two facilitators and members from five local Leagues or more, this opportunity is meant for you!

Education, our purpose

A working group is grounded in a state position or set of related positions with two facilitators representing different Leagues and a minimum of five Leagues represented. Their primary purpose is educational. They do not advocate as a group (on state issues, the League speaks with one voice), but are encouraged to talk about their issue as individual constituents.

We encourage local Leagues to participate in working groups and to use them as a resource.

Background

At the 2019 LWVSC convention, the LWVSC Board became aware of a need and desire of members to work on some of the issues and positions that were not at the forefront of our advocacy work at the State House. State working groups are more opportunities to help make a difference in South Carolina!
