The state's Teacher Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement Task Force will hold three public listening sessions.
Individuals will be able to sign-up to speak upon arrival, with speaking time likely limited to no more than 4 minutes to allow the widest possible participation. Individuals planning to provide feedback are encouraged to bring a hard copy of their feedback in the event there isn't enough time for everyone to speak.
Remarks should be targeted at providing the task force with specific recommendations on state policy actions that would enhance educator recruitment and retention efforts in South Carolina. The task force has previously received information on the scope of the teacher shortage and the factors contributing to that shortage, so the listening sessions are intended to be an opportunity for the public to provide recommendations to the task force on how to address the existing shortage.
