Blog PostThe last day of the regular session of the General Assembly is by law the second Thursday in May, and so this year it was May 9.
Some bills of interest to the League have either passed or died at this point.

- H.4561 – Deductions for caregiver expenses from campaign funds, passed House but died in Senate committee
- S. 1126 – Ballot proposition changing constitutional language from “every” citizen to “only” citizens having a right to vote, passed.

- H. 4624 – Prohibits gender affirming care for minors with gender dysphoria, passed
- H. 3553 – Ends sales tax on period products, passed
However, it isn’t all over for some of the bills that we’ve been following and working on.
Some bills were passed by both houses but in different versions. In those cases, a conference committee will attempt to agree on a common version. In the case of the energy bill, H. 5118, a study committee may precede the conference committee.
Conference committee dates are posted at www.scstatehouse.gov when scheduled.

- Conference: Rankin, Malloy, Massey, W. Newton, Caskey, Stavrinakis
