We know this past week, the nation, the world, and certainly, the League was pretty busy acknowledging the political and social unrest in Eastern Europe. Here at home, we are also busy building power on various levels with several domestic and League-specific responsibilities in fulfilling the mission of “Empowering voters and defending democracy.”
With that, March is “National Women’s History” month
- 1: (ALL Month) National Women’s History Month, Ethnic Equality Month, Irish American Heritage Month, Gender Equality Month
- 8: International Women’s Day and United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace
- 25: International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
We must be intentional in how a program, a process, a product, is perceived by a variety of communities, voices, and perspectives, and what, if any, barriers may exist that is preventing it from being equitable or inclusive of everyone.
What to Ask When Examining Your Work Through a DEI Lens
- Who will be impacted?
- What are the intended and unintended outcomes?
- Does this align with our vision for an equitable and inclusive organization?
- What changes could be made to make this more equitable?
