Just about everybody has heard of climate change.
Just about everybody has heard that continued dependency on fossil fuels will result in:
- Increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases.
- Increasing sea levels.
- More intense weather and weather-related events such as stronger hurricanes and prolonged droughts.
But many people know little else about climate change.
This presentation will:
- Help you better understand climate change.
- Give you the latest assessment of the threats posed by climate change based on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change August 2021 Comprehensive Report.
- Explain the lifestyle changes that global humanity must make to combat and mitigate climate change.
- Talk about specific initiatives that South Carolina is taking to combat climate change.
- Talk about what you can do today to reduce your carbon footprint and facilitate the changes needed to mitigate climate change.
