Did you know that the national-level League is conducting a study about the federal judiciary system? Studies are how the League creates our policy positions, and we use our policy positions to advocate about issues that are important for our democracy and our communities. Forming a position about the federal judiciary will empower us to take action with respect to this crucial branch of government.
A key part of the study process is getting input from League members, and we have the opportunity to give our input now. We know that not all local Leagues are able to hold meetings about the federal judiciary study, so we are holding a statewide virtual event about it. The event will be on Wednesday, April 2, beginning at 6 pm, and it is open to all South Carolina League members who are not already participating in the study through their local Leagues.
Interested? You can find information about the study, including background informational materials, here. (We'll reach out to registrants to highlight the elements that we think you should focus on.) If you have questions, please contact the Director, State Program.
The federal judiciary study is an example of the League's grassroots process for Making Democracy Work. Come be part of it!
