2022: The League Turns 102 before Early Voting is a Reality in Connecticut

For over 100 years, the League has been working to attain and secure voting rights for disenfranchised American citizens. In a progressive state like Connecticut, many voters were unaware that we do not allow for any in-person Early Voting, convenience that our neighbor states already enjoy. This November, Connecticut voters will have a chance to change that by voting YES on the ballot question: Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting?

Sign Up to Testify on Key Voting Rights Bills before the GAE Committee

Connecticut needs our own state-level Voting Rights Act because federal courts have drastically weakened the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. In 2020, the Center for Public Integrity observed that Connecticut voters still face some of the biggest obstacles outside of southern states. Sign up by Thursday March 24 at 3PM to testify for the virtual public hearing to support SB 471 and two other bills that will protect and expand access to the ballot.
