Since 2020, the League of Women Voters has partnered with Power the Polls to recruit poll workers. As Leagues prepare for upcoming local elections and gear up for a busy election season, it is critical to recruit poll workers to ensure safe, free, and fair elections for all voters.
National Poll Worker Recruitment Day August 11, 2026 is a day of action established by the US Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to encourage people to sign up to be poll workers and help ensure free and fair elections.

Media Fellowship House

A Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) postcard writing event is scheduled for Saturday, August 8 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Media Fellowship House 302 S. Jackson St., Media PA 19063. This GOTV event is part of the League of Women Voters National Day of Action to Unite & Rise honoring the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Additional GOTV events will be scheduled for September and October.

A Rally for Voting Rights is scheduled for Saturday, August 8 from 11:00 AM to Noon in front of the Delaware County Courthouse 201 W Front St, Media, PA 19063.

This event is part of the League of Women Voters National Day of Action to Unite & Rise honoring the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The Justice Bell

An in-person author presentation titled Highlighting Pennsylvania Women During America’s 250th Anniversary Celebrations is scheduled for Wednesday July 8, at 6:30 PM at the Radnor Memorial Public Library, 114 West Wayne Ave., Wayne PA 19087.

The presentation will feature Amanda Owen author of the book, The Justice Bell: Tracing the Journey of a Forgotten Symbol provides the first in-depth documentation of the Justice Bell’s creation, its historic 1915 tour, years of obscurity, and its rediscovery a century later.

Visit us at the Friday Nite Summer Fest Friday, June 19, 2026 from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Grace Church Parking Lot, 710 Blackstone Avenue Collingdale, PA 19023. The FREE, family-friendly event is sponsored by Prodigy Peacebuilders which honors America at 250 while celebrating Juneteenth and cultural heritage. This is a joyful evening that brings together people of all backgrounds for celebration, connection, and fun.
The event is hosted in partnership with Grace Church and the Collingdale Borough Council.

Our League of Women Voters (LWV) will have voter information available on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Delaware County Pride Festival being held from 1:00 PM from 6:00 PM at Upper Darby Township Building, 100 Garrett Road Upper Darby, PA 19082.

The festival will feature a variety of activities that involve all ages, kid-friendly activities, interactive games, live music and entertainment, DJs, dancing, face painting, nail painting, and other fun activities. This festival is FREE to the community with no admission charge.

The League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County (LWVCDC) Annual Meeting is Wednesday, June 10 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Haverford Township Free Library, 1601 Darby Road Havertown, PA 19083. This is a FREE Member ONLY event but registration is required. The purpose of the Annual Meeting is to conduct the important business of our League of Women Voters and to celebrate our mission to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy.

The International Relations Study Group of the League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County has been active for years studying different countries meeting monthly on the second Tuesday at 12:30 pm. To generate discussion the group uses the Great Decisions Briefing Book resources put out by the Foreign Policy Association.

On June 9, 2026 the discussion will be a review of Chapter 4 of 2026 Great Decisions titled The Third Nuclear Age: Trump, the Order, and the Bomb.

Delco Pride Festival

The kick off of the annual celebration of Pride in Delaware County will begin with the popular Pride Parade on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on State Street in Media, PA. This parade will celebrate and promote the rights and equality of the whole LGBTQIA+ community.

Since the suffragists and founders of the League of Women Voters (LWV) marched for equal rights we encourage our members to march in the parade behind our LWV banner. This is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community while raising awareness of the ongoing struggles for LGBTQIA+ equality and rights.
